The new, daring and A rated trailer of 2017's most 'controversial' film Lipstick Under My Burkha is here and it will surely shake the roof of self-proclaimed dignity watchers of the society. Packed with sassy lines, eyebrow-raising punches and lots of sex, the film screams of being a film for women who have no qualms about their sexuality and know how to tame, explore and enjoy their desires.

The trailer punctures the fabric of patriarchy and censorship in its every scene and makes you smirk at the way makers handled the entire CBFC ban situation.

Set in Bhopal, Lipstick Under My Burkha is the story of four women who rebel and escape their tiresome lives. Konkona plays an oppressed housewife and a mother of three kids, who also lives the life of an enterprising saleswoman. Ratna Pathak Shah is a 55-year-old widow who rediscovers her sexuality through a romantic liaison over the phone. Aahana Kumra plays a young beautician who plans to elope with her love and escape her small-town life and Plabita plays a college girl coming to terms with her cultural identity while aspiring to be a pop singer.

The film challenges the moral policing of women's dignity with the story of liberating small town women and some direct, very direct, sexual acts and references. Through the kaleidoscope of the veiled dreams and pulpy fantasies of these women, the film speaks of the pulsating spirit of rebellion.

Directed by Alankrita Srivastava, the film faced a lot of issues in getting a certificate and was called 'too lady oriented' by the board of certification. After fighting at the tribunal, the film finally received an A certificate and is set to release on July 21.
