This comes at a time when rumours of Telugu actors Sudheer Babu and Kiran Abbavaram being approached for Kill remake have been doing rounds on social media.
Meanwhile, it was previously announced that Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment, the makers of John Wick, are planning an English remake of the Indian action thriller Kill. According to Deadline, Chad Stahelski, Jason Spitz, and Alex Young of 87Eleven Entertainment will lead the remake, attracted by the original film’s intense action sequences and compelling narrative.
“Nikhil delivers relentless action sequences that need to be seen by as wide an audience as possible. It’s exciting to be developing an English-language version – we have big shoes to fill,” Stahelski said.
Released on July 5, follows Indian Army commando Amrit (Lakshya) as he fights to save his love, Tulika (Tanya Maniktala), on a New Delhi-bound train. The film has earned Rs 15 crore as of now.
News18 Showsha gave the film 4 stars. The review read, “A week after an innovative take on mythology was delivered in the form of Kalki 2898 AD, director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat delivers a refreshing take on Indian action films with Kill. If you love hardcore action films, Kill is a treat to watch. The film is not for the weak-hearted and is bound to leave you sick in the tummy if you can’t handle too much gore. Watch the film for it.”
