Kannada TV Actor Sunny Mahipal Accused Of Stabbing Wife

Popular Kannada television actor Sunny Mahipal, known for his stint in the 2021 series Nethravathi, has recently been embroiled in a serious controversy. The actor, who keeps sharing updates with his fans and followers on social media, recently tied the knot with a woman he met online. Their friendship blossomed into love, eventually leading to extreme closeness. Reports were rife that the woman is currently two months pregnant. Now, there are several reports accusing Sunny Mahipal of assaulting his pregnant wife.

Sunny Mahipal got married to the woman on June 15 in a temple, with a slew of photos surfacing as proof of their union. Post-marriage, Sunny promised to introduce her to his parents; but in the meantime, the couple decided to maintain a friendly relationship. Accordingly, the woman agreed to these terms. Complications arose when the woman got to know that Sunny was cheating on her and had gotten engaged to another woman.

After learning about the matter, Mahipal’s wife went to his residence in Vigyan Nagar on July 22. Upon confronting him about his alleged engagement, a heated argument ensued, leading to the actor allegedly assaulting her.

Amidst this tumultuous storm, Sunny Mahipal reportedly stabbed his wife’s arm with a knife, leading to a serious injury. His wife also suffered a miscarriage due to the stress and violence during the quarrel. After this, she called emergency services and requested them to take to the nearest hospital as she was bleeding profusely, but they did not come to her aid as there was no female staff. Eventually, she lodged a complaint at the HAL police station, accusing the actor of assault, as per reports.

Sunny Mahipal, in turn, filed a complaint at the police station claiming that the woman trespassed into the house and forced him into marriage.

Nethravathi, bankrolled by Poornima Productions, also starred Sachin Chaitra Rao and Durga Shree. The series revolved around a devotional Nethravathi, who is the sole breadwinner of her family. Later, a time comes when her life turns upside down when Samudra falls in love with her, unaware of his grudge towards her father.
