Kannada Actress Amrutha Prem's Second Film Journey Begins With Muhurat Ceremony On Father's Birthday

Kannada actress Amrutha Prem, the daughter of the renowned Kannada actor Prem Kumar, has made her mark in the industry with her debut movie titled Tagaru Palya. Now, she is eagerly anticipating the release of her second film as well. The muhurat of this untitled film was held today at the Shri Bande Mahakali Temple located in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Many prominent guests including Amrutha’s father and actor, Prem, attended the muhurat ceremony. It became one of the most special moments for the Tagaru Palya actress as the muhurat ceremony coincided with the birthday of her father Prem. On this joyous occasion, Prem wished Amrutha for her upcoming project. The 22-year-old actress interacted with the media as well and patiently answered the questions related to the cast and crew of the film. The title of the movie, however, remains undisclosed.

Despite hailing from a film background, Amrutha had never thought of taking acting as a career choice. An opportunity with the film Tagaru Palya, however, prompted the engineering student to reflect on her career choices. In an interaction with The New Indian Express, she said,” “I wanted to be sure I wasn’t entering the industry solely because of my celebrity background. It was important to me to have a genuine passion for the art, an understanding of the intricacies of cinema, its triumphs and setbacks, and the ability to handle them. I took my time to ponder all of this before making my decision.”

Written and directed by Umesh K Krupa, Kannada film Tagaru Palya was released at the cinemas on October 27, 2023. Backed by Daali Pictures, this film starred an ensemble star cast of Mysore Anand, Sharath Lohitashwa, and others. Tagaru Palya received accolades from viewers and critics alike for showing the simple yet heartwarming lifestyle of villages.

In an interview with a portal, director Umesh talked about how he selected Amrutha for Tagaru Palya. The director shared that the film’s storyline demanded an innocent face. He added saying he happened to spot Amrutha in a video and approached her and Prem for the role in Tagaru Palya.
