Kannada Actor Dheeran Rajkumar Changes Name After Visiting Koragajja Temple

Actor Dheeren R Rajkumar said he decided to change his name after visiting a Koragajja temple near Kateel, Karnataka with Kannada film director Chethan Kumar. Dheeren, one of the three grandsons of Dr Rajkumar, said that the priest suggested he change his name to include his grandfather’s name, as “Dr Rajkumar is not just a name but a strength by itself”.

Dheeren R Rajkumar, previously known as Dheeren Ramkumar, spoke exclusively to Times Now about why he changed his name. The Kannada actor, who started his career with Anil Kumar’s movie Shiva 143, is now being launched by producers and distributors Karthik Gowda and Yogi G Raj from KRG Studios.

During an exclusive interview with Times Now, the actor revealed the reason for changing his name and also discussed his future projects. Viewers who watched the popular Pan India movie Kantara may recall the rituals of Koragajja, Daiva Aradhane, and Bhoota Kola featured in the film. Among these rituals, Koragajja is particularly revered in Tulunadu, the Tulu-speaking coastal area of Karnataka.

Dheeren’s new name honours his father Ramkumar and grandfather Rajkumar, symbolising their family heritage.

Actor Dheeren, accompanied by Kannada film director Chethan Kumar, visited a Koragajja temple near Kateel.

“I am one of Dr Rajkumar’s three grandsons. There’s nothing wrong with having Dr. Rajkumar in my name. Besides honouring the legendary actor, the name holds great power and strength. The new name has a positive energy, and I feel rejuvenated and revitalized,” he concludes.

Not long ago, KRG studios also greeted the actor with birthday wishes. The caption of the post reads, “Wishing a very Happy Birthday to Dheeran. We, KRG Studios are happy to announce our project with Dheeren this year”.

KRG Studios, a top film production company in Kannada cinema, revealed their latest project starring Dheeren Ramkumar. The announcement was made on the actor’s birthday.

Further information regarding the project will be released soon. Dheeren Ramkumar will be known as Dheeren R Rajkumar in the movie. Dheeren Ramkumar entered the industry with his debut in Shiva 143, directed by Anil Kumar and produced by Jayanna Productions.

Dheeren is the grandson of Dr Rajkumar and son of Ramkumar and Poornima Rajkumar.
