Jyothika Reveals Why She Chose To Play A Mother In Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan Starrer Shaitaan; Know Here
Jyothika spoke about why she chose to portray the role of a mother in the supernatural flick Shaitaan.

Jyothika is making a comeback in Bollywood with Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan starrer Shaitaan. She recently opened up about her role in the film and revealed why she chose to play a mother.

Speaking to ANI, she said, “There are a lot of sequences in the film that ignite motherhood, and I don’t know if I want to really reveal them, but one of them was a very important reason why I said yes to this film also. I think throughout, it was a constant that the film reminded you of how responsible one has to be with a teenage daughter and what role a mother and father play in the protective journey of their kids.”

“I think, as a mother, from the beginning to the end, this film has that emotion and responsibility throughout… That feeling of just protecting your child continuously. I think every parent watching the film will be under that light,” she added.

The supernatural flick, directed by Vikas Bahl, promises to deliver spine-chilling thrills. It features a stellar cast including Jyotikha and R Madhavan alongside Ajay Devgn.

The teaser, which was released earlier, opens with a voiceover saying, “Kehte hain ki yeh duniya poori behri hai, par sunte sab meri hai. Kaale se bhi kaala main, behkaave ka pyaala main. Tandar se le kar shlok ka, maalik hoon main nau (9) lok ka. Zeher bhi main, dawa bhi main. Chup chaap sadiyon se sab dekhta, ek khaamosh gawah bhi main. Main raat hoon, main shaam hoon, main kainath tamaam hoon. Banata, bigadta, samet ta, marodta, log kehte hain ki main kisi ko nahi chodhta. Ek khel hai, kheloge? Iss khel ka bas ek hi niyam hai, main chaahe kuch bhi kahoon, mere behkaave main mat aana.”

The teaser features spine-chilling visuals of the devil’s symbols and motifs. It also features shots of Ajay Devgn and Jyothika looking scared as they seemingly face someone. Another shot features R Madhavan’s sinister smile, hinting that he might be the ‘Shaitaan’. The film will be released on March 8 this year.
