The upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine movie is shaping up to be one of the most unusual and intriguing projects in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The movie is also in the news for its R rating, as well as the official merger of the X-Men universe with Marvel Studios’ films. In addition to this most awaited crossover, the superhero flick is also set to feature numerous exciting cameos. Recent reports hint at appearances of Jennifer Garner, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, among others. Now, a new rumour suggests that Jessica Alba, known for her role as Sue Storm in the early Fantastic Four films, may also make a cameo appearance in the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer.
Entertainment reporter Caleb Williams recently hinted at Alba’s involvement, alongside Chris Evans reprising his role as the Human Torch. While Alba’s involvement makes sense, Evans’ casting raises eyebrows, as he already plays the bigger character Captain America aka Steve Rogers in the MCU.
The original post was shared by the Marvel Updates account, who confirmed that Evans and Alba will indeed appear in the upcoming Deadpool 3 movie. However, the page clarified that Loan Gruffudd, who played Mr Fantastic, will not make an appearance in the film. While Williams did not address the rumour regarding Evans’ casting, he claimed that “Always heard Alba was returning and is the Sue Storm to John Krasinski’s version of Reed Richards from Earth-838.”

In an earlier interview in The Jess Cagle Show, Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy broke his silence on rumoured cameos in the upcoming MCU movie and said, “I love the proliferation of casting rumours on the internet because I never have to say what’s real and what’s fantasy so I’m just going to go with the very cliche no comment on all things casting in Deadpool 3. A lot of the internet rumours are completely false but some of them aren’t.”
As Deadpool 3 is set to feature Time Variance Authority (TVA), it’s highly possible that Deadpool 3 will follow a similar path to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and include tons of familiar characters from the multiverse.
As Marvel Studios gears up to introduce the Fantastic Four and the X-Men into the MCU, Deadpool and Wolverine will be a perfect film to set the stage for Phase 5. Apart from Jennifer Garner, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, a more star-studded cast is confirmed for the upcoming film, including Wesley Snipes, James Marsden, Famke Janssen, Dafne Keen, Channing Tatum, Blake Lively, and even singer Taylor Swift. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer Deadpool 3 is scheduled to release on July 26.
