Jennifer Aniston took a trip down rumour lane on her recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where she tackled some of the wildest tabloid stories written about her. The beloved Friends star, 55, participated in a hilarious true-or-false game as host Jimmy Kimmel read out bizarre headlines, including one from InTouch magazine’s August issue featuring her and former President Barack Obama side-by-side on the cover.
The headline? “The Truth About Jen and Barack,” which Aniston found amusing. “Of all the calls you get from your publicist, where you’re just like, ‘Oh no, what’s it going to be this time?’… And then it’s that! I wasn’t even mad,” she quipped. Aniston quickly clarified, “That is absolutely untrue,” adding she had only met the 44th US President once, and actually knows Michelle Obama better.
As Kimmel continued to read more absurd headlines, Aniston found herself setting the record straight on a number of topics. She denied having a “$4,000 anti-aging water filter” installed for her dogs or holding a black belt in jujitsu.
However, the Morning Show actress confessed that some rumours turned out to be surprisingly accurate. When asked about enjoying salmon sperm facials, Aniston chuckled and admitted, “That one’s true.” She also revealed that travelling abroad with jars of olives and being approached by a fan for a selfie while she was nude in a sauna were both facts, much to the audience’s delight.
The conversation took an emotional turn when Kimmel inquired about another peculiar story—whether she kept her late therapist’s ashes in a Ziplock bag. Aniston hesitated before replying, “That’s a little true… I’m going to sound like I really need a therapist after this.” She explained that in a way, her therapist had become a maternal figure to her, and keeping the ashes was her way of honouring that connection.
In a 2012 interview with GQ, Aniston had previously opened up about her therapist’s ashes, recounting how they were divided into small Ziploc bags at the funeral, almost like “party favours.”
Aniston also shared some childhood trauma, laughingly recalling how her Greek family made her belly dance every Christmas Eve in front of relatives. “I get such anxiety when my friends make their kids perform, because I have inner trauma from having to belly dance,” she said with a grin.
