Inside Shabana Azmi's 74th Birthday Party With Vidya Balan, Urmila Matondkar, Dia Mirza And Richa Chadha

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi celebrated her 74th birthday on September 18. Close friends and family, including Farah Khan, Tanvi Azmi, Urmila Matondkar, Dia Mirza, Richa Chadha, Shibani Dandekar and Vidya Balan, gathered to celebrate her special day. Soon after, Dia Mirza shared memorable moments from Shabana Azmi’s intimate birthday celebration on her Instagram account.

The Instagram carousel features several pictures and a video from the party. In the first two candid shots, Dia Mirza, Richa Chadha, Vidya Balan and Urmila along with others flashed their brightest smiles for the camera. For the occasion, Shabana Azmi was seen wearing a white kurta paired with black pants. Following these, Dia Mirza shared a hilarious video captured by Ali Fazal, who humorously said, “Nothing bas video nikaal raha tha,” which left everyone in laughter. The final two images offered a glimpse of Shabana’s birthday cake and a breathtaking view of the moon.

Sharing the post, Dia wrote, “Happy Birthday Shabana Amma. You are our inspiration, our cheerleader and the glue that holds us together. We are so lucky to call you our own. As you complete 50 years in cinema this month, please know that you are deeply cherished. Thank you for being the absolute best. We love you @azmishabana18. Farah Khan, who was missing in Dia’s post, shared a video on her Instagram account, offering a glimpse into Shabana Azmi’s birthday celebrations. At the beginning of the video, the filmmaker pointed her camera at a floral decorative piece which read ‘50’. She said, “We are at the 50th birthday of the living legend, none other than Shabana Azmi. 50th birthday, really?” After which, Urmila appeared in the frame. She gave the birthday girl a side hug, and upon realisation, she asked, “50th? This is your 50th?”

Meanwhile, Vidya joined the duo with a huge flower bouquet in her hand. She added, “No, no. 40th na?” which made Shabana very happy. The trio then hugged one another and wished the veteran actress a happy birthday. Sharing this fun video, Faran wrote, “Here with 2 of the best dancers in Bollywood!! @azmishabana18 n @balanvidya .. n oh.. there’s also @urmilamatondkarofficial, happy birthday Shabana.”

Shabana Azmi, who made her acting debut in 1974 with Ankur, was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani and Ghoomer.
