Ajith Kumar is one of the most loved actors in Tamil cinema known for his impeccable acting skills in the films Aasai, Kadhal Kottai, etc. The fans are also inquisitive to know about his personal life. Recently, some photographs of Ajith’s mother-in-law, i.e.- former actress and his wife Shalini’s mother Alice surfaced on the internet.
In these photographs, Shalini is seen celebrating her mother’s birthday with her younger sister Shamili, and brother Richard Rishi. Both Shamili and Rishi have made their foray into the film industry. Shalini was born in a Protestant Malayali Christian family to Babu and Alice on November 20, 1979. In one of the photographs, the three siblings posed with their mother while they posed for the cameras along with their family in the second picture.
Shalini has been one of the successful actresses in Tamil films and even won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for her film Alai Payuthey directed by Mani Ratnam. She, however, retired from the film industry following her wedding to the Amarkalam co-star Ajith Kumar.
In an interview with Rediff, the Alai Payuthey actor made it clear that Ajit is clear that he doesn’t want Shalini to continue in movies after the wedding. Not for any chauvinistic reasons, he quickly added, but because both of them wanted to have several kids. Therefore, Ajith wanted his wife to take care of their upbringing, rather than entrusting it to nannies while he travels off on shoots. They tied the nuptial knot in 2000 and have been married for 24 years and are blessed with a daughter Anoushka and a son Aadvik.
Some time back, there were rumours that Shalini was to make her comeback with the film Ponniyin Selvan. Her fans were eagerly waiting to witness their favourite actress on screen after a long gap but then the publicist of Ajith Kumar denied these reports. He stated that the reports are mere rumours and that Shalini is not making a comeback in Ponniyin Selvan.
