Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has recently found himself in legal trouble after multiple sexual assault lawsuits against him. Dawn Richard, a former Bad Boy Records singer, filed a lawsuit, accusing the music mogul of sexual assault, sex trafficking, fraud, and gender discrimination. Filed in the Southern District of New York, the suit also includes harrowing accounts of the singer’s abuse toward his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, while claiming that both Richard and Kalenna Harper were witnesses of the same.
Days after the shocking claims, Kalenna Harper has started distancing herself from the claim. In a statement against the lawsuit, the former Diddy-Dirty member denied witnessing any such instance of Combs abusing his ex-girlfriend. She also urged others not to interpret the claims as a “universal truth,” adding that the incidents do not describe her own experiences or the truth.
“While I fully respect Dawn’s right to recount her experiences, I want to emphasize that her account reflects her personal perspective and should not be interpreted as a universal truth applicable to everyone involved. Many of the allegations and incidents described in this suit are not representative of my experiences, and some do not align with my own truth,” she was quoted as saying by TMZ.
Earlier this week, Richard in her lawsuit made serious accusations against the rapper. In the court documents, she detailed her experiences, recalling how Combs would manipulate her to heed his demands. During her time in Diddy Dirty Money, Richard also recalled witnessing Combs getting violent with others. Richard claimed she once saw the singer grabbing Ventura’s neck, choking her and punching her.
She stated Combs would keep Harper and Richard hostage in the studio, depriving them of food and sleep. For those unaware, Dawn Richard was a part of Diddy Dirty Money, alongside the Combs and singer Kalenna Harper. The group was operated under the rapper’s own label, Bad Boy Records.
The legal action comes at the same time when a Michigan prison inmate won a $100 million judgment against Combs in a sexual assault case. Following his failure to appear for the hearing, the court issued a default judgment in favour of the complainant.
