On January 25, the Government of India announced the list of names of the Padma awardees, which included the name of South superstar Chiranjeevi. Telugu-speaking states are beaming with pride and joy as Chiranjeevi will be receiving India’s second-highest civilian award. Many extended best wishes and congratulated him on this landmark achievement. Recently, Chiranjeevi was seen jetting off to New Delhi in his private jet. As per the latest update, he will be receiving the award today, on May, 9 at a special function at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The government of India is also making special arrangements for the event. Apart from him, there will be several others who will receive the Padma and various awards in Delhi. Chiranjeevi was spotted getting onto his private jet to arrive in New Delhi. Chiranjeevi’s son-actor, Ram Charan, Upasana Konidela and Chiranjeevi’s wife Surekha Garu are to grace the special event.

The video of him boarding his plane surfaced online on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Megastar Chiranjeevi is on his way to Delhi to receive the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award tomorrow at Rashtrapati Bhavan,” read the caption. He was dressed in a navy blue collared t-shirt and paired it with blue denim jeans and accessorised his neat look with a pair of sunglasses and white shoes.

Indian actress and dancer Vyjayanthimala, former President M Venkaiah Naidu, Padma Subrahmanyam and Bindeshwar Pathak will be awarded the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award.

Chiranjeevi has been a glamorous industry for the last three decades and has contributed immensely to the art. His versatility and nuanced acting have made him the most bankable actor in the industry. He kickstarted his film career with Punadhirallu, but his first released film was Pranam Khareedu.

He is currently gearing up for his upcoming pan-Indian magnum opus, Vishwambhara, helmed by K Mallidi Vassishta, who gained fame for Bimbisara. The film will also feature Trisha Krishnan. It has been filmed in Telugu and dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages. The socio-fantasy project will mark the 156th film of the megastar. Vishwambhara is produced by Vamsi Krishna and Pramod Uppalapati under the UV Creations Banner. The music department is handled by Oscar-award-winning musician MM Keerawani. The film is touted to hit the silver screens in early 2025.
