Actor and producer Rakshit Shetty’s web series Ekam, produced by his production house Paramvah Studios, has locked its premiere date. In an Instagram post, Rakshit mentioned that this series will stream on www.ekamtheseries.com on July 13. In a press release attached to the post, the 777 Charlie producer wrote that they started Ekam’s making in 2020. He recalled that his unit faced problems when the coronavirus pandemic happened in 2020 but they remained undeterred in the making.
According to Rakshit, they faced other obstacles as well, i.e.- not being able to find a platform for Ekam’s release. Now, finally, they are bringing this series on their platform which is a one-of-a-kind attempt that needs to be acknowledged and applauded. Rakshit added that the audience may hate or love it but they will not be able to dismiss it. “I hope you enjoy it as much as we loved making it. Cheers”, the 777 Charlie producer ended the release with these words.
Fans wished Rakshit for this series and wrote that it is a brilliant idea to have its platform for streaming. Others expressed disappointment with why prominent OTT platforms didn’t provide space for Ekam. Rakshit did not list the platforms his team has approached over the years. However, it’s taken him three years to find an alternate option – abundant time for any platform that had been approached to express interest.
Ekam is an anthology of 7 stories. Social media users will not be able to log in and access the website www.ekamtheseries.com for free.
“We built a platform from scratch with a nice viewing experience. And now, we are bringing Ekam in front of you, at the price of a movie ticket,” said Sumanth, a showrunner in the announcement video of Ekam. He added that for Rs 149, a viewer gets access to the episodes, as well as a host of exclusive content.
Rakshit was slated to act in the film Thugs of Malgudi, written and directed by him. However, the much-anticipated project produced by Paramvah Studios never began production.
