13 Reasons Why Actor Tommy Dorfman Reveals She Got Married To Elise In 2023

Tommy Dorfman, known for her role in the popular series 13 Reasons Why, recently shared some big news with her fans. In a heartfelt Instagram post on Thursday, May 2, the 31-year-old actress disclosed that she and her partner, Elise, had tied the knot in a private ceremony in the fall of 2023. Dorfman expressed her joy on Instagram, saying, “I married my best friend and didn’t tell anyone except Hunter Abrams, who came and photographed us towards the end of last year.” She also revealed that they did not buy designer wedding outfits, instead, they “bought our own dresses from where I used to work before acting, and it was perfect.”

The couple’s journey to marriage began in 2021 when they met on the dating app Hinge. Despite their instant connection, Dorfman and Elise chose to keep their relationship private until they felt ready to share it with the world.

In her post, she further revealed that a few weeks ago they decided to celebrate their wedding in their own unique way and so they wrote something for Vogue magazine and Vogue weddings. “Because we love each other and the world should know,” she added.

Dorfman shared more about their love story. She described Elise as a redhead with a love for “crisp glassware and well-organised bodegas,” highlighting her partner’s charm. Despite their strong bond, Dorfman revealed that Elise is a private person and doesn’t even follow her on Instagram.

Their relationship progressed quickly, with the couple getting engaged just two months after they started dating. Dorfman wrote, “To our credit, we waited a full 12 months before moving in together, so you can’t say we U-Hauled (though one might argue taking in a Great Dane puppy at our six-month mark was a smidge irresponsible).”

“That’s the thing about falling in love though; your responsibility barometer isn’t always where it should be. Love, for us, required that nauseating combination of naivete, delusion, and fate,” she explained in her essay.

Dorfman further revealed that their decision to elope was a mutual one as both of them desired for a simple, intimate ceremony. Elise, in particular, expressed a preference for a small wedding, leading the couple to choose a private celebration.

A few months after tying the knot, the couple received their wedding photos from Hunter and then decided to share them with friends and family and celebrate their union publicly.

Tommy Dorfman is best known for playing Ryan Shaver in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why (2017). She was previously married to writer and creative producer Peter Zurkuhlen until they parted ways in July 2021.
