Lucknow: Traffic Advisory Issued Around Ekana Cricket Stadium Ahead of Australia-South Africa Match
The Joint Commissioner stated that starting from 12pm until the conclusion of the match, the underpasses at Maleshemau intersection, Pink Booth (near Ekana stadium), and Palassio Mall will operate as one-way routes.

A number of traffic diversions have been put in place by Lucknow Police from 12pm till the World Cup match ends in Lucknow.

According to a Hindustan Times report, Upendra Kumar Agarwal, Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), stated that from noon till the end of the match, vehicles heading from Kamta intersection towards Kanpur will be directed straight to Shaheed Path via Ahimamau stretch.

Additionally, U-turns at Ahimamau intersection will be restricted for vehicles heading towards Cantt, Police Headquarters, and Gomti Nagar.

The advisory by police also states that Lucknow Police commissionerate that vehicles coming from Sultanpur side may be redirected as needed from Amul Tiraha. Instead of proceeding to Ahimamau intersection, these vehicles will be guided towards Shaheed Path near LuLu Mall.

“Vehicles bound for the Police Headquarters (PHQ) from Sultanpur road will not be allowed to continue via the Palassio subway at HCL crossing. Instead, they will turn right at the Ahimamau intersection. Those traveling from Sultanpur to the stadium will have the option of making a right turn at the HCL crossing,” added the HT report.

One Way Route After 12pm

The Joint Commissioner stated that starting from 12 pm until the conclusion of the match, the underpasses at Maleshemau intersection, Pink Booth (near Ekana stadium), and Palassio Mall will operate as one-way routes. These underpasses will exclusively facilitate traffic heading towards Ekana and Shaheed Path, as per the JCP’s announcement.

the service road leading from Ahimamau to the G-20 tri-junction will only be accessible as a one-way stretch. This means all vehicles bound for PHQ and G-20 road will need to find alternative routes.

For those heading to the stadium via G-20 Tiraha, rather than going towards PHQ, drivers will need to proceed towards Gomti Nagar extension, perform a U-turn, and enter through the pink booth.

Post-match, all vehicles will be permitted to use Ahimamau and Palassio underpass.

The stretch of road from water tank tiraha to Palassio Mall will be strictly designated as a no-parking zone. The JCP (L&O) emphasized that any vehicles left parked here will be towed away by cranes.

The other no parking areas include the space in front of Ekana stadium, Palassio Mall, Service lane of G-20 Tiraha and PHQ at Ahimamau intersection.
