Ahead of the much-awaited India-England World Cup Match at Lucknow’s Ekana stadium on Sunday, the traffic police have issued a detailed traffic advisory with route diversions, parking instructions, and traffic guidelines to ensure smooth vehicular movement in the city.
According to Lucknow Traffic Police, the traffic diversions will be enforced from 8 am on Sunday and will be relaxed only after the match gets over in the night.
Lucknow: Router Diversion Ahead of India-England WC match
- Auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws will not be allowed at Ahimamau crossing and will have to head towards Lulu Mall from Ahimamau or towards the 112 police control room building.
- Vehicles heading towards the 112 control room building will have to take the service lane and reach their destination via G20 Road and Gomtinagar Extension.
- Public vehicles heading towards Sultanpur Road will be diverted from Amul Tiraha.
- Buses and other public vehicles coming from Arjunganj Cantt will be able to go through Katai Bridge.
- Buses will not be allowed to take a stop at Sultanpur Road and the passengers will have to board and disembark towards Lulu Mall.
One-way routes
- Husadia Underpass to Maleshamau Underpass, Maleshamau to SSB Underpass will be one way on both sides of Shaheed Path.
- Palacio underpass will remain one-way towards PHQ ahead and during the match.
- It will be one way from Ahimamau intersection to G-20 Tiraha via PHQ.
Parking Details
- Those commuting with their private vehicle can park at the marked places from Ahimamau via HCL via Water Tank Tiraha to Palacio, as per the advisory.
- All two-wheelers will be parked behind Palacio Mall via Ahimamau via HCL Tiraha.
Lucknow Traffic: Top Points
- Shaheed Path will remain open for most vehicles but the movement of autorickshaws and e-rickshaws on it will remain barred.
- Police said that roadways and all other buses and commercial vehicles will be prohibited during the match on Shaheed Path
- Cabs and private taxis will also be allowed to ply on Shaheed Path.
- Private vehicles or cabs will not be allowed to stop vehicles within 500 metres of the Ekana Stadium exit on Shaheed Path.
- Entry will be given three hours before the start of the match.
- No entry will be allowed inside the stadium after 8.30 pm.
Ind vs Eng Match in Lucknow: Security Arrangements
Joint Commissioner of Police Upendra Agarwal (JCP Law & Order) Lucknow said that 3,800 police personnel have been deployed in and around Shaheed Path to ensure safe and smooth conduct of the India vs England World Cup match on Sunday.
“8 Superintendent of Police, 14 Additional SPs, 35 ACPs, 143 Inspector, 516 SIB, 21 Female SI, 1776 Head Constable and Constables, 377 Female Constable, 9 Company PAC have been deployed for the security arrangement,” he added.
