Ralph Lauren is known for weaving outfits for crème de la crème across the globe. Lauren has designed some iconic designs but never a wedding outfit in his work history. Not because he doesn’t want the ‘wedding gown maker’ tag but he is known for abiding by his personal protocol.
This time something changed his policy. Lauren has finally broken his rule for Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding. The ace designer who has designed wedding trousseau only for his daughter, daughter-in-law and niece till date, has ditched his policy for the couple and the reason behind this gesture is really emotional.
The Met Gala 2017 event played a big role in Nick and Priyanka’s love life, and Lauren was also involved in it.
The couple made an appearance together at the Met Gala 2017 event only because Ralph asked them to. The designer unaware of their already existing connection over texts invited them to walk together for him in his custom made outfits at the Met Gala red carpet. Little did the designer know that a week earlier couple had already chugged their love story with a drink at a hotel in New York.
Ralph felt an immense emotional involvement and went up to Priyanka personally with his sketches to be a part of her D-day and weave magic with his design for her wedding outfit.
Previously, in an interview with vogue, Priyanka gave away details of her wedding with beau Nick Jonas including who would design her wedding outfits. She mentioned that one of the designers is going to be Ralph Lauren.
It is established that the Quantico actor will wear several wedding designer wears and not only Ralph Lauren for her D-day in Jodhpur’s Taj Umaid Bhawan.
She also said that Nick is going to ride a horse wearing traditional Indian attire with a turban and a sword.
The couple will reportedly exchange their wedding vows in a Christian ceremony on December 2 at Jodhpur's Umaid Bhawan Palace which will then be followed by a Hindu ceremony in the later part of the day. Going by the Hindu and Christian wedding theme, Priyanka will adorn three grand outfits for the occasions.
While we anticipate that the Christian wedding gown will be weaved by the iconic Ralph Lauren, Priyanka is rumored to wear Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla couture on her Hindu wedding day.
Reportedly, on October 6, she arranged a meeting with the designer-duo Sandeep Khosla and Abu Jani to discuss her outfits.
In the past, Priyanka has been spotted wearing Khosla-Jani twice with Nick Jonas. She donned a yellow Salwar-suit for her Roka ceremony and a red saree for an event crafted by the ace designers.
At a special puja at Priyanka’s residence, the couple wowed everyone in their traditional avatar in Manish Malhotra outfits.
Priyanka looked chic in a light blue kurta with pink and silver embroidery and teamed it with straight pants. The American pop singer looked adorable in pink kurta-pajama by the same designer and teamed it with beige ethnic shoes. We couldn’t miss the couple flaunting a pair of sauve sunglasses.
While the couple flaunted their traditional look, Nick’s brother – Joe Jonas and the Game of Thrones star, Sophie Turner, sported Manish Malhotra outfits, too.
Currently, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have reached the blue city – Jodhpur. While sangeet is rumored to be celebrated at the Mehrangarh Fort, the wedding will take place at the palatial Taj Umaid Bhawan.
