In the Braj region, Phulera Dooj holds great significance, particularly in Mathura and Vrindavan. In the Hindu calendar month of Phagun, Phulera Dooj falls on Shukla Paksha Dwitiya. The festival is celebrated in the days between Vasant Panchami and Holi.
This year, Phulera Dooj will be celebrated on March 12. Owing to the timing, Lord Krishna temples organise a special Darshan that shows God getting ready for the impending Holi.
