Blessed with a distinct and evocative voice, Mohammed Rafi’s songs resonate with millions, four decades after he bid adieu to the world. Born in Amritsar, Rafi was only 7 when he learnt Hindustani classical music and at 13 made his playback singing debut. Renowned for his ability to mould his voice, the legendary singer crooned for scores of actors. In his illustrious career, he sung more than 5000 songs in many languages.
