This weight reduction can help decrease several risk factors for cardiovascular disease, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, and insulin resistance.
  2. Improved lipid profileBariatric surgery has been shown to improve lipid profiles by reducing total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol (the “bad” cholesterol), and triglyceride levels. This improvement can lower the risk of cardiovascular events, such as heart attacks and strokes.
