South Korean singer IU collaborated with boyband BTS member V for a pre-release single titled Love Wins All. The heart-wrenching music video released on January 24 was the lead track among the 5 songs included in IU’s sixth album, The Winning. Love Wins All featured IU and V as a couple, running away from an abstract entity trying to claim their lives. Although they strive hard to survive, the paranormal force ultimately kills them. Despite being just a song, the masses were left devastated by the climax. However, in IU’s H.E.R World Tour concert, the singer delighted fans by offering an alternative ending to Love Wins All.
IU kickstarted her concert tour on March 2 at the KSPO Dome in Seoul. During the show, she displayed a different clip of the Love Wins All song which showed her and V experiencing a happy ending, unlike the official music video. The exclusive footage captured her sitting on V’s lap while the latter drove a car. Both were dressed in wedding costumes. From V’s confident expression, it seemed that he managed to escape the powerful force and save the love of his life, aka IU.

It did not take much time for the alternate climax to get viral with social media users posting a flurry of elated reactions on X (formerly Twitter). “Cried so hard. They deserved a happy ending," commented one happy fan. “OMG. Now I can finally sleep peacefully knowing they got their happy ending. My heart is contained," noted another. Some opined that the clip implied that V and IU were in the afterlife having died in the attack. “Is this an after-death scene? Like they are together in the afterlife?" asked a third individual.

The official music video of Love Wins All showed IU and V running through a forest as a cubical-shaped robotic object followed them while floating in the sky. Amidst the rumbles and destruction, they enter a shopping complex for safety and stumble upon a hand-cam. Their imagination took over as they began thinking about good times in the past and future. Embraced in each other’s arms and counting their last moments, they soon give in, being lifted from the ground by the malicious force, and disappearing into thin air.
Coming to IU, the singer will wrap up her H.E.R World Tour concert on August 2 this year. Meanwhile, V is currently serving in the military.
