With Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan making a comeback after his brief hiatus when he went back home to train with his mentor, the Tigers will be expecting him to lead the way and clinch a much needed win against the giant-killers that have risen in the tournament, Netherlands.
The toss has been dealt with. Netherlands won the toss and elected to bat first.

After a crushing defeat to Australia, the Dutch will look to bounce back in the tournament to make it more memorable for them. They already staged a massive upset in the tournament by defeating South Africa but failed to produce consistent results in their favour after that. Australia hammered them in Delhi as they lost to the five-time champions by 309 runs – highest in ODI World Cup history.
On the other side, Bangladesh started the campaign on a high with a thumping win over Afghanistan but everything went downhill for them after that. They have lost four matches on a trot and are almost out of the semifinal race. Shakib Al Hasan and Co. will look to bounce back in the tournament and Netherlands might be the easiest challenge for them as compared to others at the moment.
Playing at Eden, it is closer to home for Shakib and his boys, and they would be looking for a second win in the tournament after four consecutive losses. But, both sides head into this game having suffered a bad bruising last time around against Australia and South Africa respectively.

Captain’s Comments:
Scott Edwards (NED): We’ll have a bat first, wicket looks good. Hopefully, we can score quick. The good thing is it is a quick turnaround, so we need to leave the loss behind. We’ve set high expectations on ourselves, we need to just focus on the games to come. Barring the last game, we’ve been playing a lot of good cricket.
Shakib Al Hasan (BAN): We have to do better with batting and bowling, especially in the powerplay. If we can do that, the momentum will be with us. We’ve got a lot of Bangladeshis who have travelled across the border, plus in Kolkata we speak the same language, have a similar culture.
