Rampant India continued their incredible streak in the ICC World Cup 2023 winning all the 8 matches in the row, this time bulldozing over table-toppers South Africa by a gigantic 243 runs victory at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.
Riding on Virat Kohli’s record 49th ODI ton, a landmark he now matches with the stalwart Sachin Tendulkar, India put up a dominant score of 326/5 on the board while batting first. South Africa fumbled in their response as Indian bowlers once again turned unplayable on the night.
Ravindra Jadeja claimed a fifer while Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Shami, and Kuldeep Yadav worked closely together to stop South Africa from even crossing the three-digit mark. In the end, South Africa could only muster all of 83 runs and sea of blue at the iconic Eden Gardens geared up for celebrations.
