Ahead of the Ram Temple pran pratishtha, Nigeria, which has more than 3,000 Indians in Port Harcourt, has started special programmes.

Most of the houses have been decorated with Diwali diyas, which have been brought from India. Since Saturday, every house has been holding Ramayan reading sessions. On Monday, there will be a special Ram Mandir dinner too.

Anil Gupta, 55, a General Manager in one of the companies in Nigeria, told News18: “We are far from India, but God is everywhere. We have made special arrangements. It’s a moment of immense pride for us. It feels like Diwali. My two sons stay in the US. I have asked them too to celebrate on Monday.”

Women from the area have made big plans. Sushansi Agarwal, 36, an engineer, said, “We are far, but we have made all arrangements to celebrate. My son is listening to Lord Ram’s bhajans. We will also try to celebrate.”

While the celebration plans are on, they all plan to add Ayodhya Ram Mandir to their itinerary for the next visit.
