Gogamedi's Outfit Threatens to 'Stop Swearing-in' as Sources Say 'Cops Knew About Murder Plan in March'
Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi Murder: According to documents accessed by News18, Lawrence Bishnoi gang member Sampat Nehra, lodged in Bathinda jail, was planning to carry out the attack.

Punjab police had sent an alert to their counterparts in Rajasthan about a deadly plan to kill Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena’s president Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, sources told News18, adding that the inputs were shared in the month of March.

According to documents accessed by News18, Lawrence Bishnoi gang member Sampat Nehra, lodged in Bathinda jail, was planning to carry out the attack. Nehra had reportedly also asked his men to arrange for AK-47.

Sources further said that Rajasthan police has picked up two suspects from Haryana based on inputs from the mobile phone of their accomplice Naveen Shekhawat who was shot dead. Police, however, is still verifying if these two people are the main accused in the murder.

Local reports stated that police has zeroed down on one Rohit Rathore, who is a resident of Rajasthan’s Makrana, and one Nitin Fauji, who is a resident of Mahendragarh in Haryana.

Rajasthan Director General of Police (DGP) Umesh Mishra had said on Tuesday that they have sought the cooperation of its Haryana counterparts.

A purported social media post of Rohit Godara, affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, is going viral online in which he claims to have ordered the killing of Gogamedi as the Rajput leader was supporting his gang’s enemies and was working to strengthen them.

According to Zee News, Gogamedi’s outfit has threatened to neither cremate his body nor let the new government swear-in until “killers of their leader are encountered”.

Who is Rohit Godara?

According to reports, Rohit Godara hails from Rajasthan’s Bikaner. He has a notorious criminal record, and is presently on the run.

Known for his involvement in the underworld, Godara has more than 32 serious cases filed against him since 2010. He has allegedly demanded extortion ranging from Rs 5 crore to Rs 17 crore from several businessmen in Rajasthan.

According to a report in India Today, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has initiated measures to apprehend him and lodged criminal charges against him.

Godara is also accused of orchestrating the murder of gangster Raju Theth in Sikar last year. He took the responsibility of the killing in a Facebook post, saying that it was the retribution was in response to the deaths of gangsters Anandpal Singh and Balveer Banuda.

Godara’s name reportedly also surfaced in connection with the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala.

According to the India Today report, Rohit Godara, who works for Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gangs, fled to Dubai in June, 2022 from Delhi, using a fake passport. A red corner notice has also been issued against him, and it is believed that he is currently in Canada.
