Work on oil refinery, Jaipur Metro Rail to go ahead: Vasundhara Raje
The work on the oil refinery and petro-chemical project at Pachpadra and Jaipur Metro Rail, started by the previous Congress government, would continue with new financial budgets for 2014-15, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said on Thursday.

The work on the oil refinery and petro-chemical project at Pachpadra and Jaipur Metro Rail, started by the previous Congress government, would continue with new financial budgets for 2014-15, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said on Thursday.

The BJP government provided an estimated budget of Rs 402 crore in next fiscal year 2014-15's interim Budget for oi refinery and petro-chemical project underway in a joint venture of HPCL and the Government of Rajasthan (GoR).

Talking to reporters after presenting the Budget in the state Legislative Assembly in Jaipur earlier on Thursday, she said the previous Congress government had provided a sum of Rs 26 crore to oil refinery in the current fiscal year 2013-14. In the joint venture the GoR had only 26 per cent of share, and provided land and loan to HPCL for 15 years without interest, Raje added.

"If required based on need, the budget for refinery could be raised later on", she said. When asked whether the place of refinery be changed from Pachpadra, Raje said let us wait. For first phase of Jaipur Metro Rail, the government provided an estimated budget of Rs 486 crore in the next financial year 2014-15, she said, adding, let the first phase of JMRC completed, then the second phase budget would be decided.

There was some controversy regarding Metro IInd phase it would pass through walled city, specially under ground, she said, adding, "let there be a "people's satisfaction" first and no Jaipur's heritage would be disturbed...we will decide. I heard Opposition Congress is holding a protest rally in Jaipur...I ask them to read the budget's provision...I tell you the government is of public and not of any political party, whether BJP or Congress," Raje commented.

She also assailed the UPA government's move to cut grants provided to Rajasthan fromn 30 to 50 per cent on mid-day meal, Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Mission, and gram sadak yojna.
