BANGALORE: Four unidentified men robbed a woman by threatening to kill her child and escaped with gold ornaments worth Rs. 3 lakh. The incident took place near Winn Field Garden in Sampigehalli police station limits on Sunday evening.According to the police, Manjula, a resident of Yelahanka, was going on a two-wheeler to her relative’s house in Hegde Nagar, with her two-year-old child and her sister. When they were near Winn Field Garden, four men in a Tata Sumo stopped Manjula’s vehicle saying that something had fallen out of her bag. Manjula stopped the vehicle and went back to check with her sister, to find nothing. The men took the child and allegedly threatened the sisters with a knife asking them to give away the gold ornaments they were wearing. “They also threatened them of kidnapping and murdering the child. Frightened by this, the duo gave away their gold ornaments worth Rs. 3 lakh. The miscreants sped away in their vehicle after handing over the child to the sisters,” the police added.
