Alleging that the previous BRS government let down unemployed youth who aspired for jobs in the newly-formed state, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday said his government would fill up two lakh job vacancies within a year.
Addressing the gathering after distributing appointment letters to staff nurses at an event held at LB Stadium in Hyderabad, CM Reddy said that the unemployed youth has played a crucial role in bringing the Telangana separate statehood movement to a decisive stage.
He alleged that the BRS government which ruled the state for 10 years has done nothing for the unemployed youth.
Reddy also alleged that the then rulers were always busy providing posts to their family members and never thought of doing justice to the unemployed youth in Telangana.
“After they were dethroned from their posts you (unemployed youth) are going to get jobs”, he said. The chief minister criticized former health minister and BRS MLA Harish Rao for making allegations against his newly formed government.
“On the one hand we are making all efforts to fill the vacant posts in the state on the other hand Harish Rao has been making false allegations against our government. Nothing will happen to the government with the accusations made by Harish Rao. He has to look at the happiness in the eyes of children belonging to the poor families”, Revanth Reddy said.
“We are committed to fulfilling the promise made to the unemployed youth. Accordingly, our government revamped the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) and appointed a new chairman and members,” he said.
The government is making efforts to fill up over 15,000 police jobs soon, he said, adding that he is giving reassurance to unemployed youth from the podium. “It is our responsibility to fill up two lakh government job vacancies within a year. We will fulfill our promise,” he said.
Even though persons staying in the farmhouse (in an indirect reference to former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao) turned to tears after seeing happiness in your (unemployed youth) eyes the process of filling up vacant posts will not stop”, amidst cheering audience he said.
Congress leader Sonia Gandhi had given a word in 2004 at Karimnagar to create Telangana out of undivided Andhra Pradesh and the state was formed in 2014, Reddy said. The government headed by him under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi would fulfill the promises made to the people by creating jobs, he said.
After today’s recruitment in the health department, appointments would be made in police soon, followed by filling up vacancies in all government departments through the state public service commission, he said.
Reddy also said the reason for organizing the event at Lal Bahadur Stadium is that he and his cabinet colleagues took the oath of office on December 7 at the same venue.
