When To Expect Rainfall As Per Stars And Nakshatras
Rain stars, identified from Ashwini to Vishakha Nakshatra, are traditionally believed to herald rainfall according to folklore.

If one observes the intense heat of April and May, concerns may arise about relief from heat in the future, especially for farmers, whose crops get destroyed in the dry land. However, there’s relief in the forecast provided by rain stars, indicating the anticipated arrival of rainfall brought by Varuna, the Hindu god of rain.

Rain stars, identified from Ashwini to Vishakha Nakshatra, are traditionally believed to herald rainfall according to folklore and Hindu religious beliefs. In a sense, since time immemorial, these stars have been providing rain information to the farmers, and the practice precedes the forecasts made by the weather department for more than centuries. Let us discuss and see what is in store for us regarding rainfall as far as rain stars are concerned.

Beginning on April 13, Ashwini Nakshatra is expected to bring about normal rainfall. Bharani Nakshatra, commencing on April 27, is also anticipated to bring normal rainfall. However, it’s noteworthy that rain stars in April don’t necessarily guarantee rain. Krittika Nakshatra is expected to usher in rain from May 11, followed by Rohini Nakshatra from May 24, both expected to bring normal rainfall.

The subsequent rains predicted by specific Nakshatras include Ardara from June 21 Punarvasu from July 5, Pushya from July 19, Ashlesha from August 2, Magha from July 16, and Hasta from July 30. Following these, North rain is expected from September 13, Hasta rain from September 26, Chitra rain from October 10, Swati rain from October 23 and Vishakha rain from November 1.

Nakshatras are lunar mansions or star clusters used in Hindu astrology. There are 27 Nakshatras in total, which is the apparent path of the Sun across the celestial sphere over a year. Nakshatras play a significant role in astrology, horoscope matching, and timing of rituals and ceremonies in Hindu culture.
