New Delhi: Thirteen-year-old Dilson, who used to live at Indira Gandhi Nagar adjacent to the army quarters in the Island Grounds locality in Chennai, was shot dead when he had strayed into the army residential area on July 3, 2011.
He was killed when he tried to pluck almonds from the army residential area. The victim's family had alleged that he was shot by an army man.
The postmortem report had earlier established that a bullet killed Dilshan when he scaled the Army campus.
Retired Army officer Lieutenant Colonel Kandasamy Ramraj, who has been sentenced to life imprisonment for shooting Dilson dead, was staying in the officers’ quarters next to the site where Dilson was shot at.
The Chennai CB-CID was entrusted with the responsibility of probing the Dilson murder case.
