We will not withdraw support from Pak govt: Sharif
Sharif said that judges would be restored according to Muree declaration.

New Delhi: Pakistan Muslim Leadue-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif said on Friday that he will not withdraw support from the Pakistan government.

Addressing the media in a press conference, Sharif said, “A committee will be formed to decide the restoration of judges. Representatives of the committee will be from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and PML-N,” said Sharif.

He added that he did not want to withdraw support. “We want to run the government,” he said.

On the issue of resolution of judges, he said that the resolution would be produced on Monday in the assembly. “Draft of resolution is almost ready,” he said.

"By Monday, the resolution should be tabled in the National Assembly. It will be debated on Monday, Tuesday and on Wednesday it should be passed. Also I feel that judges should be restored," he said.

He told the mediapersons that the judges would be restored according to Muree declaration.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission said on Friday that Pakistan would hold a presidential election on September 6 to vote in replacement for Pervez Musharraf, who resigned this week.

Under Pakistan's constitution, a new president is elected by members of the country's four provincial assemblies and the national parliament within 30 days of the post becoming vacant.

Sources say that the executive committee of the PPP proposed Zardari to be the next Pakistan President.
