Wanted, people to film polls

CHENNAI: With the Madras High Court directing the Chennai District Election Officer and Chennai Corporation Commissioner D Karthikeyan to videograph happenings at polling booths, the DEO has appealed to eligible videographers and volunteers to register themselves for the mega task.A release from the DEO said it would pay Rs. 1,500 (for 12 hours from 6 am to 6 pm on Monday) for videographers. The same amount would be paid to videographers with laptop and web camera facilities. The Corporation will also rope in students to use web cameras and they would get Rs. 700.For registration, videographers and volunteers can contact the nearby Corporation zonal offices or register their details at the civic body’s website www.chennaicorporation.gov.in.
