Dubai: Indian job seekers in Kuwait heaved a sigh of relief as the government has announced the transfer of visit visas to work permits.
The government has decided to do so on one condition, the applicant should be a university graduate.
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour officials on Monday said 200 Kuwaiti dinars (Rs 30,800) would be collected from each employee for the process.
The applicants must pass medical tests, the officials added.
However the workers, who entered the country before the decision, would be exempted from the regulations. And a one-month grace period will be given to them to obtain their work permits.
