KOCHI: As many as 31 unclaimed vehicles which have been kept in the custody of various police stations in the city will be auctioned soon. According to Kerala Police Act, a proclamation shall be issued directing the person, if any, who may raise a claim to appear before the officer concerned, specified in the proclamation, within thirty days to establish his claim.Hence, as per the rule, a notice has been issued requesting the claimants of the vehicles, if any, to bring the essential identification documents to the Station House Officers of the respective stations on or before 5 pm on August 10. If no claim has been made till the specified date, the Act allows the article to be auctioned and the sale proceeds be credited to the Criminal Justice Miscellaneous Expenses Fund. All the unclaimed vehicles comprising scooters, motorcycles and autorickshaws, which have a Kerala registration, have been shifted to another location.
