UT boy chosen for World Skating Event

S Kasirajan, a class XI student at Petit Seminaire Higher Secondary School, has been selected to represent India in the World Roller Figure Skating Championships 2012 to be held at Auckland, New Zealand, from September 29 to October 13 this year.

He was among the seven selected at the trials held at Visakhapatnam between August 2 and August 5 by the Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI).

Kasirajan would represent the country in two events - Inline Free Style for Men category and Solo dance in Junior Men category. A letter from the RSFI in this regard has been sent to Pondicherry Roller Skating Association.

On November 14, 2010, he had received the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement, 2010, from the then President Prathiba Patil for his achievements in skating at the Children’s Day celebrations at Rashtrapati Bawan.

Puducherry Minister Thiyagarajan congratulated Kasirajan in the presence of PRSA President Thiruvengadam, General Secretary Prasad Rao, Pondy Skater’s Club President Anand and General Secretary Senthil.
