Jeevan Chand was unmarried and lived with his brother's family.
Police said Jeevan's 70-year-old sister-in-law told them that he was fed up of prolonged illness and used to curse his life.
According to her, he was inclined to end his life.
Doctors had diagnosed him with arthritis and he was suffering from severe pains and blood clotting in his knee joints, she said. He was under treatment of a physiotherapist.
A case has been registered and investigation is on, they said.
