Unimpressive show by Indian golfers at Asiad
The team gold went to Chinese Taipei while South Korea and Thailand won silver and bronze.

Incheon: Indian golfers fared badly in the 17th Asian Games as both the men's and the women's teams finished sixth and tied eighth respectively at the Dream Park Country Club on Sunday.

In the individual event, Udayan Mane was the top ranked Indian, finishing tied seventh.

The men's team of Manu Gandas, Mane, Feroz Garewal and Samarth Dwivedi carded 211 in the fourth round to take its total to 839. Mane scored three under 69 while Gandas contributed 71. Samarth came up with 71 and Feroz scored the lowest 73. The best three scores are taken into account for the team event.

Gandas, Garewal and Dwivedi finished 11th, joint 19th and 32nd, respectively in the individual event.

The team gold went to Chinese Taipei while South Korea and Thailand won silver and bronze. The individual gold was clinched by Tsung Cheng Pan of Chinese Taipei, who scored 271 and the silver was won by South Korea's Namhun Kim, who scored 273 to finish ahead of Chinese Taipei's Yan Chun Yu.

In the women's section, the Indian trio of Gurbani Singh, Aditi Ashok and Astha Madan, scored 587 to finish eighth. Gurbani carded 74 while Aditi came up with a score of 75 and Astha scored 78.

Gurbani, Aditi and Astha finished 15th, 21st and 24th, respectively as the gold went to South Korea's Gyeoi Park, who fired 19 under 269 overall. Thailand's Budsabakorn Sukapan missed out on the gold by just one shot to settle for the silver and her teammate Sumapas Sangchan clinched the bronze.

The team gold went to Thailand while South Korea and China took the silver and bronze respectively.
