BHADRAVATI: West Zone emerged champions of the All India U-19 Inter-Zonal Cricket Tournament, defeating East Zone by 123 runs by virtue of a couple of centuries, one each from opener S K Patel (103) and C G Khurana (101 not out) and a fine medium pace 10-over spell by Shubham S Ranjane who took five wickets.Invited to bat first, West Zone mustered a total of 274 runs in the stipulated 50 overs losing only three wicketsdkar (17) and Vijan Zol (20). S K Patel and C G Khurana punished the East Zone bowlers and both put on 175-run partnership. C G Khurana and Vijay Zol contributed 45 runs for the third wicket. East Zone was all out for 151 in 35 overs. Except wicketkeeper Wasiqur Rehaman (27) and R M Raj (22), no other batsman crossed the 20-run mark. Shubham S Ranjane was declared man of the match.
