KOTHAMANGALAM: Two more accused of sexually harassing a minor girl at Nellikkuzhi near here, who were nabbed from Thodupuzha on Friday, were remanded in custody by the Judicial First Class Magistrate here on Saturday. The accused, namely Muneer and Rasheed, both autorickshaw drivers, reportedly confessed that they sexually assaulted the girl in an autorickshaw several times. Another accused, Niyaz, who was their relative, had arranged the girl.Now, the number of accused has risen to 11. Police seized three cars and an auto rickshaw in which the girl was sexually assaulted.The investigating officers raided the houses and hideouts of the accused who are absconding. Ernakulam Rural District Police Chief Harshita Attaluri and Moovattupuzha Deputy SP Tomy Sebastain monitored the investigation. Tomy Sebastian told that the Police stepped up the combing for the remaining accused.Police, after taking more evidence from the victim, came to the conclusion that there were many more accused involved in the case.The girl who was taken from the Children's Home in Kakkanad for queries in this connection on Thursday, was taken back to the Children's Home on Saturday.Meanwhile several organisations have come openly conducting various protest demonstrations, condemning the slackness of the Police in arresting all the accused when their identities were clearly known.
