Emma joined thousands of Turkish women in a movement to defy the Turkish Deputy PM's sermon.

New Delhi: The spirited Emma Watson put a happy picture of herself laughing on Twitter. Emma joined thousands of Turkish women in a movement to defy the Turkish Deputy PM's sermon that women should not laugh in public.

During a speech on the occasion of Eid, Bülent Arinç said, "A woman should be chaste. She should know the difference between public and private. She should not laugh in public."

On Wednesday thousands of women posted pictures of themselves laughing out loud, with the hashtags #direnkahkaha (resist laughter) and #direnkadin (resist woman) trending on Twitter.

Actress Emma Watson also joined in to protest by posting a picture of herself laughing at what appears to be a an empty amusement park.
