HYDERABAD: Members of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) stalled the Assembly proceedings for about 15 minutes on Sunday when speaker Nadendla Manohar rejected their adjournment motions. The TRS MLAs demanded that the state government withdraw police cases filed against government employees and others during Sakala Janula Samme. They said the government agreed to lift the cases against the employees and others during discussions with the TJAC to resolve the general strike. But no action has been taken in this regard so far, they said.
The MIM wanted a discussion on the involvement of the state police in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh 'fake encounter'.The TRS members rushed to the Speaker's podium and raised slogans against the Congress Government for its 'failure' to fulfil the promise of lifting cases. The MIM was also firm on its demand for a discussion on the 'fake encounter'.
