New Delhi: High-speed Airport Express Line was to be commissioned this week,
has been delayed over the security concerns ahead of the Commonwealth Games.
Trials on the entire 23-km route from New Delhi to IGI Airport were to be conducted this week.
Full trial runs on the high-speed Airport Express Line was scheduled to begin this week, as Delhi Metro chief E Sreedharan, on September 14, allayed apprehensions over the safety of the corridor.
Sreedharan said the work on the line, which will be run by a consortium led by Reliance Infrastructure, has been completed and initial trials have been completed. He said the trials were conducted by Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) -- under Ministry of Railways -- and it has been successful.
