KOZHIKODE: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) leader T P Chandrasekahran arrested two more men on Saturday. Those arrested are P Ajesh alias Kajur Ajesh, 30, of Panthakkal and K K Nizar, 33, of Azhiyur Kunhipally. With this, the total number of persons arrested in connection with the Chandrasekhran murder case has become 20.Police said Ajesh, a CPM worker, was arrested for his involvement in the murder attempt against Chandrasekharan in 2010. Sources said Ajesh was the member of the quotation gang led by Kirmani Manoj, who had been assigned to eliminate Chandrasekharan.Ajesh was arrested on various sections of IPC including 120 b (criminal conspiracy) and 118 (concealing design to commit offence punishable with death or imprisonment for life). Ajesh is also an accused in the murder of BJP activist Babu of Panthakkal two years ago.Nizar was arrested in connection with the Chandrasekharan murder case for securing SIM cards using fake documents. Police sources said Nizar had helped Jabir, another accused in the case, to obtain SIM cards.Jabir was arrested earlier by the SIT for providing SIM cards to assailants. Both the accused were produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Vadakara and were remanded in judicial custody till June 8. The SIT will move application seeking police custody of the accused on May 29.
