Three hurt by police van

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A police van knocked over a 10-year-old child and ran over the legs of a man and woman causing serious injuries to all the three at Kalady here on Wednesday. While the child has been admitted to the SAT Hospital with headinjury, both the man and woman were admitted to the Medical College with fractured legs.  The van, which was moving in reverse, knocked down the people and crashed through a perimeter wall. Police sources said that the van was not driven by a policeman but by his younger brother. "The policeman had gone for lunch in the van. His younger brother, who was not experienced, got behind the wheel and the vehicle went out of control as he was reversing it,’’ a police source said.
