CHENNAI: Three persons were arrested on Tuesday on charges of grabbing land using forged documents.A press release said A K M Shamshu Nighar, an advocate, lodged a complaint with the police commissioner, alleging that he had been maintaining his father A K M Pitchai’s 13 acres of land at Acharapakkam. Meanwhile, his father’s first wife Fathima Beevi and son Jainul Abdin prepared forged documents for the land and handed over the power of attorney to Govindaraj of Siruseri for sale of the property. Govindaraj sold the land to a realtor S Mohandas (33), who divided into residential plots and sold them.The North Beach police, registered a case against six persons, including Fathima Beevi, Jainul Abdin, Govindaraj and his manager Pandian. Abdin, Govindaraj and Pandian were arrested on Tuesday. A search is on for the other involved.Jewels, cash stolenA 50-year-old woman was robbed at knifepoint by two intruders at her residence in Kotturpuram on Tuesday.In another incident, Sivananda Raj, retired army officer, and his wife left their house in Pattabiram on a chore. On returning, they found the lock broken and gold ornaments kept in the safe robbed.In Thiruvanmiyur, burglars broke into a courier company and decamped with Rs1 lakh on Tuesday.
