'The Lunchbox' Tweet Review: Simplicity is the film's strength
'The Lunchbox' is a poignant sensitive tale of two strangers who fall in love without meeting each other.

New Delhi: Having won laurels in various international film festivals across the globe, documentary filmmaker Ritesh Batra's first feature film 'The Lunch Box' is ready to release in India.

A poignant sensitive tale of two strangers who fall in love without meeting each other and merely through exchange of letters tucked in a lunch box, the film has struck a chord with those who have watched it.

Starring Irrfan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and new actress Nimrat Kaur, the film has been entirely shot in Mumbai. Those who have watched the film have already stated that it should be India's official entry to Oscars this year.

While Irrfan and Nawazuddin have proved their mettle in various movies in the past, it would be interesting to watch Nimrat Kaur in a feature film. Would she be able to match up to towering actors in her second film? Is Ritesh Batra's film worth an Oscar nod?

Shomini Sen of IBNlive.com is inside the theatre to find that out.

02:18 PM: The precision with which the dabba walas do their work is beautifully depicted in the film. #TheLunchbox

02:26 PM: Remember Mrs Waghle from Waghle ki Duniya? Actress Bharti Achrekar, rather her voice features in the film. #TheLunchbox

02:41 PM: There are no frills in #TheLunchbox and that makes the film special.

03:00 PM: The film depends majorly on expressions of the actors. Not too many dialogues. #TheLunchbox.

03:09 PM: New comer Nimrat Kaur so far is simply stunning in her role as Ela. #TheLunchbox

03:17 PM: Lilette Dubey in a very de-glamorized avatar. She plays Nimrat Kaur's mother in the film. #TheLunchbox

03:19 PM: "We forget things when we have no one to tell to." Subtle humour here and there. Puts a smile on the viewer's face. #memories #TheLunchbox

03:59 PM: There is no one like Irrfan Khan. And he proves that he is the best we have in our industry right now- time and again. #TheLunchbox

04:05 PM: The three leading actors of #TheLunchbox are the film's USP.

04:08 PM: It's difficult to judge who is better of the two- Irrfan Khan or Nawazuddin. Both know their craft well. #TheLunchbox

04:11 PM: Nimrat Kaur stuns you with her restrained sensitive performance. Hope she is flooded with offers that showcase talent in future. #THELUNCHBOX

04:12 PM: Watch #TheLunchbox for Irrfan Khan. The man as always manages to win you over.

04:14 PM: Also the beauty of #TheLunchbox lies in its simplicity. Ritesh Batra makes simple things in life look poetic.

04:15 PM: Thanks for being with us throughout the review of #TheLunchbox. Have a wonderful weekend ahead.
