HYDERABAD: Hundreds of advocates were taken into preventive custody for staging a protest at the High Court here on Tuesday.Protesting against Monday's arrests of T advocates for allegedly obstructing other advocates from doing work, the Telangana Advocates JAC gave a call to lay siege to the High Court.In response, hundreds of advocates from various courts in the city and outskirts reached Madina in the morning and went in a procession to the High Court amid huge police presence. The advocates held a silent protest on the court premises. “We did not raise any slogans. After we made three rounds of the High Court, police took us into preventive custody,'' TAJAC convener T Sriranga Rao said. Nearly 250 protesting advocates were taken into preventive custody and shifted to the Falaknuma and Dabeerpura police stations. They were released in the afternoon. In the evening, a group of nearly 30 advocates staged a protest in front of the Assembly against the arrest of advocates. Police took them also into preventive custody.
