THRISSUR: The cultural capital of state bade adieu to theatre personality Vayala Vasudevan Pillai on Tuesday. The mortal remains of Vayala, who died on Monday, were consigned to flames on the shores of Nila at Cheruthuruthi. Earlier, his body was kept at Regional Theatre at the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi for the public to pay homage. People from all walks of life turned to the Regional Theatre to pay their last respects to the icon of the theatre world. His body was kept at the School of Drama also.
