BANGALORE: The fourth edition of the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) World 10K Bangalore Run held on June 5, had raised over Rs 1.83 crores for charity featuring an increase of about Rs 42 lakh over the last edition of the event held in 2010.Announcing the contribution amount, N Chandrasekaran, CEO and MD, TCS said, "Over the last four years, the World 10k Bangalore run has become an iconic event that has fostered the spirit of giving. "V S Basvaraju emerged as the highest pledge raiser among men from the Care Champions, raising Rs 7.07 lakhs for Association of People with Disability (APD), while Sonia Sarathy was the top pledge raiser among Care Champion women, collecting Rs 5.48 lakhs for CUPA. Arvindan Srinivasan continued his stellar work in the iCare category, raising Rs 1.09 lakh.Shell India led the way among corporates, raising Rs 3.76 lakhs to emerge as the highest pledge raising company, while among the NGOs it was the APD on top for the fourth year in a row with Rs 50.13 lakhs, followed by Mobility India with Rs 10.96 lakhs.The husband-wife duo Bharti Kamath and Amarnath Kamath coupled their fund raising efforts, thereby benefiting 12 organisations in the voluntary sector.Around 20 Corporates, 5849 individual donors including 15 care champions were among the major contributors for the fourth edition of the TCS World 10K Bangalore run held in association with Procam International and Bangalore Cares.
