Tamil Nadu fishermen attacked

RAMESWARAM: Fishermen, who put out to sea from here, were attacked allegedly by Sri lankan Naval personnel near Katchatheevu, fisheries department officials said today.The Lankan naval men allegedly attacked some fifty fishing boats last night, snapped the fishing nets and threw the catch back into the sea near Katchatheevu island.But they did not assault the fishermen, officials said.The fishermen had also complained that they were later allegedly attacked by Lankan fishermen from Mannar with country bombs, the officials said.No one was injured, they said.
